“Maestro” (might be) Back On!

Well ladies and gents, remember all the time ago when Tom’s production of Maestro (the film about the pianist?) was dropped due to funding issues?

Supposedly it’s back on. I’ve been searching around to find absolute confirmation but the most I could come across was the IMDB page. And a friend who sent me this Variety Article which is over a year old.

Hopefully we can get some more/solid information and we’ll keep you updated!

Here’s the updated synopsis of the film from IMDB:

In an exotic outpost of 1960s tropical Australia, a spirited and talented teenage boy encounters the ‘Maestro’; a Viennese refugee with a shadowed past…the occasion is an unorthodox piano lesson. A volatile relationship develops between these two ‘outsiders’, both of them struggling with their own inner torments and desires. As the boy tries to make sense of his world, and his ambition, he challenges the enigmatic ‘Maestro’ to reveal his past. But it is only when the boy travels to Europe and he must face himself for the first time that the painful and shocking pieces of the Maestro’s life are put together. A twist of fate gives Paul the chance to finally understand what the Maestro has tried to impart: that ego and ambition can hinder the creation of music that touches deep into the soul. When Paul finally connects with the powerful essence of love he is able to play that elusive ‘magic’.

If anyone has any more information on it please email it our way!

Glamour.com’s Face To Watch In 2010

Edit: After letting Glamour know of the typo error (read below), they have made the amendments! End edit.

Hello everyone,

Tom has been listed in Glamour Magazine’s list of Faces to Watch In 2010, and this is what they had to say about him:

Tom Sturridge – Age: 24

After Jamie Bell [Hayden Christensen] stole the lead role off Tom for Jumper back in 2006, he finally managed to cause a Hollywood buzz last year, shaking things up with The Boat That Rocked. Being bestfriends with Robert Pattinson has helped him to secure a slot on girl’s bedroom walls. This year he stars in Waiting For Forever. Let’s hope he gets his kit off.

I am not sure why they had said Jamie Bell stole the role, but I took the liberty and replaced Mr Bell with Hayden Christensen, cos it was he who replaced Tom.
